The drama is an adaptation of a highly popular voice-over IP of the same name. However, it is described by some viewers as an "original script" due to significant changes.
- Character Arc: The novel apparently contained a plotline where both the male and female leads fall in love with other people during their 3000 years together. The drama changed this to a strict 1v1 romance, eliminating this source of conflict.
- Core Conflict: The drama introduces a more traditional "jealousy" and love triangle dynamic with the second male lead (林淮/Lin Huai), a character who also has memories of past lives and actively pursues the female lead. In the novel, this conflict may have been more internal and focused on the couple's gradual estrangement.
- Plot Focus: The drama emphasizes the "love triangle" and "jealousy" aspects, which some reviewers felt made the characters, despite being 3000 years old, act immaturely. The novel's focus may have been more on the philosophical and emotional fatigue of eternal life.
- Narrative Structure: The drama is structured as a "script murder" style mystery in some parts, where characters try to uncover the truth of their past. This structural element may differ from the novel's linear narrative.
- Missing "Golden Finger": One source mentions that the drama removed the "rebirth golden finger" from the original work, suggesting the novel may have given the female lead a more active advantage in her survival and struggles.
Plot Overview
